Welcome to the website of the Laboratory of Environmental Material Engineering. This site provides information on staff members, students, and their ongoing research activities.
Environmental Material Engineering (EME) Laboratory has primarily conducted various research themes on concrete science and technology for more than 80 years, as being one of the leading research units on concrete in Japan. Recent research interests include the development of highly durable concrete, the use of industrial by-products such as fly ash and slag, evaluation of concrete structure construction from the viewpoint of environmental aspects, and performance evaluation of concrete under severe climatic conditions (e.g., marine environment and/or freezing and thawing action).
